ASK Training and Learning with Paul Quate

Last weekend was a busy one for Circus Factory, upskilling coachess with ASK training and learning with Paul Quate.

Ask Training

Mia and Giulia attended the ASK training project at the Galway Circus Community Center on November 13–15. The ASK training project was presented by Pete Duncan and Lynn Carroll to circus schools in Ireland. ASK (Assistant Trainers Sharing Knowledge) is a course developed through two years of collaboration among eleven EU circus schools and funded by erasmus+. It provides a curriculum and guidebook with modules to teach assistant trainers pedagogical methods, theories, and practical skills.

Giulia then brought this training back to Circus Factory She presented the ASK project to the youth tutors/assistant tutors. After that, they got to have fun and do circus with the fantastic Paul; juggling balls and diablo on Friday with hats on Saturday

ASK Training and Paul Quate

Training with Paul Quate

Our coaches were fortunate enought to train with Paul Quate developing their own circus skills, bringing even more to out students.
Paul said:”The training I did with your team of trainers on Friday and Saturday was really about upskilling – we focused on juggling and diabolo on Friday then moved onto hat manipulation on Saturday.”
We were also lucky enought that even our Youth Ensemble got to work with him. Speaking about our Youth Ensemble Paul said “The Youth Ensemble were fantastic!  We had great session on Saturday focussing on group juggling games and exercises, diabolo & solo and partner juggling. I asked the group which skills they’d like to focus on for the next day, and based on their suggestions we worked on group acro, tightwire, solo ball juggling, diabolo and rola bola. “
We can’t wait to see the ASK traning and upskilling with Paul Quate in action this term.
