Exciting News!!!! (definitely a cue drumroll moment)…..Circus Factory is delighted to announce our first ever Associate Artist for 2021, Loosysmokes!

Loosysmokes is an award winning modern Circus company that seeks to create synesthetic spectacles that swallow an audience. The company is made up of a close-knit group of hardworking artists, craftspeople and performers produced by Elaine Mc Cague and Jonah McGreevy and is a unique combination of circus, spectacle, dance, theatre and visual art. Working with the shapes of waking dreams, the glimpses at the edges of eyesight, and the intensity of lightning struck, they aim to create a visceral experience that ends deep in the gut of the viewer. Their two major works to date Behind the Dark and Raven Eyed have both received five star-reviews, toured to sold-out audiences, and been nominated for multiple awards. You can read more about them and their amazing work at www.loosysmokes.com

Loosysmokes will assist Circus Factory in the development of our professional artist opportunities including offering mentorship to our Professional Members in the development of new work.

The appointment of an Associate Artist has been made possible by Arts Council Ireland Arts Grant Funding 2021, for which we are over the moon about, allowing us to look forward and keep growing, dreaming, creating and discovering. We would like to extend a huge thank you to all the team at Arts Council Ireland for supporting Circus Factory in our 2021 artists professional development. Exciting times ahead!
