Announcing our first Factory Days recipient, Eimear Ní Mhaoldomnaigh who is kicking off her residency time this week. Eimear is a multidisciplinary performance artist, who’s art explores themes of identity, sexuality, autonomy, perception and the dichotomy of human emotion. A latecomer to the world of circus, with a background in science, she is in some ways an outsider in the art world, existing in the in-between. This grey area is where she is happiest, blurring lines and confronting ideas of how ‘things should be”.
‘Factory Days’ is a professional development residency programme for emerging, mid-career and established circus and multidisciplinary artists that include circus as one of their key artforms. The programme is presented by Circus Factory and supported by Arts Council Ireland
We received a 200% increase in applicants this year and from a competitive selection process, 9 artists and companies were selected for the Factory Days residency programme 2021.
