Why You Should Join the Fire Manipulation Workshop:

• Eat fire by extinguishing a lit torch in your mouth
• Extinguish a torch using jellyfish and forced extinguishes
• Body trails or “fuses” to transfer fire using your body
• Collecting vapour from a hollow torch and from the wick itself
• Manipulating vapour (the cool stuff!)
• Our workshops are structured in a way that builds confidence as the day goes on, and developed to give you a solid understanding behind the movements and the science that makes this magic happen!

And it’s a fire manipulation workshop, enough said!

What Should You Bring?

Fire in Your Face will provide all fuel, hollow torches and safety equipment.

• All you need to bring is a 2ltr bottle of water and a can-do attitude!
• Want to take a pair of torches home with you? We will have a full range of props that can be purchased on the day for a reduced rate.

What Should You Wear?

• Wearing clothing with natural fibres (not synthetic!) and avoiding loose-fitting clothes will help keep you safe.
• We recommend you also wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty!
• Tight-fitting black clothing is ideal.
• Loose hair/beards should be tied back where possible, and avoid hair products/perfumes/deodorant that could be combustible.
• Some make-up is also combustible (particularly mascara), and we ask that you leave it at home.

Circus Factory has a microwave, kettle and small kitchen. The Marina Market Food Hall is also just across the road. The Black market is behind us.

Additional Information:

The main workshop will last approximately 6 hours and is structured in a way to build confidence as the day goes on. For an additional fee, there will also be a professional photoshoot opportunity during the additional hour of “play time” at the end of the workshop. This time can be used to get awesome photos and polish up any techniques you have learned. Please aim to turn up to the venue by 11:30am so we can make sure the workshop starts on time.

About Tom

Tom is the lead instructor and owner of Fire In Your Face. He’s been fascinated with, and practicing circus skills for most of his life with his earliest memories being juggling when he was just seven years old!

He did his first fire “performance” (we use that term lightly!) when he was twelve. Since then, he has discovered that passing his skills on and seeing others progress is what brings him joy.

About Connor

Hailing from Scotland, Connor is undeniably one of the best fire manipulators in the world (and in Tom’s opinion, THE best he’s ever seen). His style differs from Tom’s, which gives him a unique perspective that he can share with our students.
