Tight Wire for Beginners

A beginner’s introduction to the beautiful artform of tightwire walking. In this workshop, we will learn the refined skill of balance and how to work with it to create beautiful movements and dance on a thin steel cable. We will learn many tricks on the wire and find fun ways of combining them into mini sequences or performances. This workshop will give you a brief insight into the meditative and energising art of wire dancing to hopefully start a new obsession in your life.

Advanced Wire Walking

A workshop aimed at professionals or experienced wire walkers who have a love for the beautiful artform of tight wire walking. In this workshop, we will learn the refined skill of balance and how to work with it to create beautiful movements and dance on a thin steel cable. We will learn many tricks on the wire and find fun ways of combining them into mini sequences or performances. This workshop will give you a deeper insight into the meditative and energising art of wire dancing. We will work with each other to create new ways of moving and improvising and creating a presence/ character on the wire.

About Fred Rush

“I’m a young circus artist only now entering the professional circus world. I came up through the youth circus community in Ireland. I was a member at Galway Community Circus for 4 years, and thanks to their amazing support I managed to enroll in the Academy of Circus and Performance Art in Fontys University in Tilburg Netherlands. Having just completed my first year as a tight wire student I am very excited to pass on some of the knowledge that I have learned this year, so this summer I have the pleasure to teach a tight wire workshop. Looking forward to sharing the joy of wire dancing with you amazing people.”
