Aerial Hoop or Lyra is the artform of exploring acrobatic movements, choreography and transitions in and around a circular metal hoop suspended off the ground. A hoop can be practiced as static or ‘spinning’ which is when a swivel is attached to the top of the rigging straps to allow the hoop to rotate or ‘spin’ adding to the style of choreography.
Our classes are suitable for all adult ages, levels and backgrounds. Students are encouraged to develop at their own pace to make sure they build confidence and strength in a safe manner.
Programme runs in 6 week terms. Classes are 1.15hrs
Introduction Classes are also available on Wednesday evenings from 8pm - 9.30pm. Please see our Introduction Class page for the upcoming schedule of classes.

Static Trapeze or fixed Trapeze is made of a horizontal solid bar suspended from 2 ropes. The art of static trapeze involves the performer performing tricks and choreography under and on the horizontal bar and incorporating the ropes for further complexity. The performer moves around the trapeze rather than trapeze moving with the performer.
Our classes are suitable for all adult ages, levels and backgrounds. Students are taught the key basic positions and moves and encouraged to develop at their own pace to make sure they build confidence and strength in a safe manner.

Circus Factory has professionally installed aerial rigging and all equipment and hardware undergoes regular inspection. All equipment is rigged at a low accessible level with professional landing mats mandatory for practice training. Our aerial Coaches are experienced aerial artists and have a high level of previous teaching experience. All classes are conducted with Covid 19 protocols in place.
The circus factory is such a fantastic place with amazing tutors. There is never any pressure to go higher or do anything I'm uncomfortable with but I still always find myself pushing my boundaries from the support and enthusiasm of Brenda and the students. Couldn't ask for a better environment to see what I'm capable of or better people to share a passion with.
“Finding circus was such a life changing thing for me, in it I found not just a physical outlet, something that had been lacking in my adult life but also a creative outlet, a place to be inspired and explore my crazy ideas”
“Brilliant venue. great for learning circus skills with lovely teachers”
The Circus factory is like a big playground where creative people play and work with each other and learn from one another. Exploring new movements is one of the most beautiful ways to entertain your inner child.
The equipment in CF is always improved/ updated and above all when it comes to aerial rigging/equipment it's regulated & safe. Knowing you can train on apparatus that is rigged well and checked regularly means a lot”
“The best place in Cork to get fit and push your limits while having a lot of fun.”
“Circus Factory has been an amazing organisation and community to get to know. By learning skills I never thought I could manage, It has helped me develop confidence not just as an artist but in my everyday life as well”,
