Aerial Silks is the art of learning to climb, move and choreograph movements in the air with the support of the aerial fabric and technical wraps to secure the body in a position. Our classes teach Beginners through to Improvers with skills involving climb techniques, wraps and key holds such as catcher and hipkey positions. We also focus on the necessary body preparation exercises for this demanding yet beautiful art form.
The aim of this course is to further develop student's understanding and technique in the basic skills of Aerial Silks including strength and conditioning for progressing on the apparatus. The class is suitable for advancing beginners with two coaches on hand and students will be grouped into their appropriate level.
Students will continue practice with French and Russian climb, entry and exit for Footlock from a climb, progress with work on inversions (potentially climbs), plus new positions, wraps, transitions and creative choreography to bring together all the hard work.
At the end of the term you will have strengthened your basic skills and technique on aerial silks along with a variety of floor exercises to develop the strength for further progression. We will also demonstrate the importance of safe aerial practice.

The circus factory is such a fantastic place with amazing tutors. There is never any pressure to go higher or do anything I'm uncomfortable with but I still always find myself pushing my boundaries from the support and enthusiasm of Brenda and the students. Couldn't ask for a better environment to see what I'm capable of or better people to share a passion with.
“Finding circus was such a life changing thing for me, in it I found not just a physical outlet, something that had been lacking in my adult life but also a creative outlet, a place to be inspired and explore my crazy ideas”

The Circus factory is like a big playground where creative people play and work with each other and learn from one another. Exploring new movements is one of the most beautiful ways to entertain your inner child.
The equipment in CF is always improved/ updated and above all when it comes to aerial rigging/equipment it's regulated & safe. Knowing you can train on apparatus that is rigged well and checked regularly means a lot”
